On September 22nd everyone at Voyageur was so thrilled to see so many of our local customers at our Retail Store’s Grand Opening! It was a fun filled day and one of the day's highlights were the demonstrations and make-and-take event put on by Susan Barclay Nichols!
Susan is better known as SwiftCraftyMonkey, the author of the blog Point of Interest, as well as more than 30 e-books and e-zines including Lotion Making 101, Formulating Lotions & Creams, Hair Care and Back to Basics - Creating Anhydrous Products. A failed batch of bath bombs during a youth group led to this life changing discovery where she fell in love with chemistry and making products at home. Not content to keep this information to herself, she shares her passion for researching, formulating, and instructing through her blog she started in 2009, by writing a monthly column for Handmade Magazine, and teaching classes at Voyageur Soap & Candle.
We loved the recipes Susan formulated for our Grand Opening so much we asked if we could post them online for all of our customers to see, and she was awesome enough to say yes! In this 11-page PDF document you will find several recipes that we know you are going to love including an amazing Whipped Shea Butter! Additionally, in the document you will find 3 variations of an Exfoliating Foaming Bath Whip Scrub that will be a perfect addition to gift baskets this holiday season. Also included in the guide is a great Moisturizing Lip Scrub Recipe that will be sure to become a favorite as we move into the dryer winter months! All of the ingredients featured in these wonderful recipes are available online and in store.
We are so appreciative to Susan for sharing these recipes, and we know our customers are going to love making these products both for themselves and for sharing with friends and loved ones!
