Voyageur Pure Castile Soap Recipe
Originating in Spain, Castile soap has been produced with 100% pure olive oil for centuries, and is prized for its gentleness and light sudsing action. Rich in nutrients and Vitamin E, olive oil is a wonderful moisturizer. It softens the skin and helps attract and hold moisture in the skin.
The Voyageur Pure Castile Soap is a beautiful soft skincare bar that gives lots of bubbly lather - gentle enough for a baby’s skin.

Makes: 4 pounds of soap
Recommended soap making temperature: 120 degrees F
Time required: 1.5 - 2 hours (from preparation to clean-up)
|180 grams (6.35 oz)||Sodium Hydroxide (lye)|
|420 grams (15 fl. oz)||Soft or Distilled Water|
|1350 grams (47.6oz)||Olive Oil – Pomace|
|15-30 ml (0.5 – 1.0 fl. oz)||Essential Oil of choice|

Keys to success:
- If using fragrance oils, please note that some oils can “seize” soap, causing a premature setting up of the soap mixture. To avoid or minimize this problem when using a new and untested fragrance oil, try dropping your soap making temperature to 100 degrees F, and slowly add the fragrance oil to your soap mixture during the last half of the mixing process.
