I purchased this product to add to a conditioning hair cleansing formulation I made that had worked extremely well for me (and others who I had test it), thinking it would add silkiness to my hair. BIG mistake. It left residue every time. I was destined to stay DIY and the shampoo I made was excellent, except for the white residue in my dark hair. Tons of it, immediately after shampooing and after it dried, it stayed. I had to wear a hat for months. I left Canada, just after I purchased it and made my formulation with it in Europe, so I thought the residue was being caused by water hardness, or other products in the formula I had messed up on, so I kept changing out/eliminating ingredients, except for the SAA, not thinking it could be this. I had to contend with really bad hair days for months until I came across one article advising of how bad your hair days could be due to adding it. I used my cleansing shampoo and then an oiling treatment on my hair for a few weeks to rebuild my hair. When I went back to a formulation without SSA, my hair was back to perfect. I think it's important to try new additives, but this one was a hard lesson.
Added it to my facial serum - lovely smooth finish.
