curious colour...but what you see is what you get, eventually

I got this product as colouring for lavender scented soap. I'm used to working with bolder colours, so the subtle tint of this clay challenges me...and requires a bit of faith and patience to use. Mixing it into soap mix which is yellow in its molten phase, makes it looks brown (purple and its complement, yellow, make brown). So it is hard to judge if you've used "enough" or not, until the soap has cooled, and then it's too late to add more. Am currently watching fresh, purplish brown soap drying to mauvish beige (taupe)--the colour of a Weimaraner dog, or the gown worn by the mother of the bride. I guess that's okay--a classic scent in a classic mould, in a colour I understand to be elegantly understated. If your brand is subtle, this clay is for you. If you like more decided colours, maybe go for the stronger, nature-identical, lab-made colours.
